Con Google Images ormai è un attimo scovare i ladri di immagini in rete.
Qualche giorno fa ho aperto Dreamstime, ho cliccato su una mia foto di Morcote e ho scoperto che è finita, insieme ad altre, in una photo community coreana , Doopedia, che mette on line immagini di vari contributors di microstock, suddivise in categorie, per esempio food, per il download gratuito in formato 800 x 533 px, senza filigrana e senza copyright, ovviamente.
Avendo dunque trovato qui praticamente tutte le immagini di Morcote presenti su DT, ho scritto un' email al suddetto sito tramite il nuovo pulsante "report misuse".
Questa la risposta di Dreamstime:

Your recent copyright report has been refused due to the following reason:
This is an online library that only displays the images. They are not offered for sale.If you are able to adjust/correct the problems signalled above, please resubmit the report form.

For web usage, the size allowed is maximum 800 pixels. We have however asked the site in question to place the files at a smaller file and they agreed to comply with our request.

Se si legge il loro contratto, in effetti si evince che:
"For Web use, you must not use the image at a width exceeding 800 pixels unless it is included in your site's design. If the image is part of a design and manipulated accordingly, the image width can be higher than 800 pixels."
Quindi, questi signori, che prelevano le immagini e le mettono a disposizione in un catalogo gratuito sono in regola, visto che non eccedono gli 800 px!
Sono piuttosto basita, incredula, allibita.
Che fare, segnalare io personalmente a questi tizi di togliere le mie immagini?
